Except the sun, on these three strangers, is all of a sudden way the hell brighter than usual and I can see the … seams where they’re put together. And, almost, see the apparatus inside them take the words I just said and try to fit the words in here and there, this place and that, and when they find the words don’t have any place ready-made where they’ll fit, the machinery disposes of the words like they weren’t even spoken.
People love drama, never forget that.
And you’ll never escape people like Mr.Woolfe, or the man with the black black ink set deep deep down on his chest and back. They crawl up in you and settle down like weeds and drain your lifeforce.
I’ve been restless since the encounter with the wolf. Dreaming of running out to his big truck again, our hands clambering all other one another and oily palms staining everything as we streak out into the moon, streetlights bending and waving, the twinkle of the dashboard lights, blurs of shapes from my bare eyes.
He’s a behemoth of a thing that’ll swipe you up in his paw and bite down on any part of you. He’s got no sense for being delicate or having you comfortable, he’s a wild thing with a look in his eye that switches like a gear: amused. annoyed. amused. finished.
And I wanna punch him on that big dumb snout of his, flick his nose and smack his rump and wag my finger and raise my voice like an angry parent. The sooner you want to pull him on the ear and hiss, he curls up right there next to you with those shining eyes and you know there’s a pup down there, under all that wolfness, and you can’t do anything but pity him. Pity him and scratch that special place between his ears.
Is cool
So I’ve been thinking about what to do for my bestfriend’s birthday, and I’m practically fucking broke(well the money I have left is still going towards an incredibly complicated present for my boyfriend), so buying him something was out of the question. Not only did I have to think abstractly, but I had to do it quick. The solution is absolutely genius, and now confirmed:
This friend has been obsessed with this guy’s calligraphy channel for a while now, so I decided to message the guy and ask if he could pen “Happy Birthday” for my friend on his birthday, and HE SAID YES! I think I’m actually a little more excited than him, mainly because I can’t wait to see his reaction, and he doesn’t even know I’m doing it and…yes. It’s gonna be great, ya’ll.
If anyone’s been keeping up with my tales of FNM, here’s the latest installment! For the last two weeks I’ve been playing my new Gruul deck, which is located here, if you wanna check it out.
With this deck, I’ve gone even at FNM, meaning I’ve got 3 wins and 3 losses for a 6 round tourney(if you’re not put into top 8). The height of the deck is definitely its speed. With Burning-Tree Emissaries and just the naturally low mana curve I got a lot of things about by about turn 2-3. I’ve gotten mixed opinions about Ground Assault, but it’s saved my ass more once, and been very good at just eliminating an annoying enemy from the field, or making an opening for me to swing. A consistent downside I’ve seen to this deck is that it’s very susceptible to boardwipes. If someone has Bonfire of the Damned, it’s just kinda GG.
Other than that, it has a lot of potential. Rancor or Bloodrush from Ghor-Clan Rampager onto a Flinthoof Boar or Predator Ooze is almost lethal. The haste from Ash Zealot, Legion Loyalist, and Strangleroot Geist and the boar if I have the mountain just lead for some good early turn moves! And lot’s not forget that “can’t block with tokens” effect from Legion Loyalist just breaks hearts.
Although I’m rather content with my deck, a pal of mine from FNM says I should never be satisfied unless I’m winning, and suggested that I make the passage into Jund. When I give people my deck to make suggestions, they usually say it’s aight, but this friend was determined to tweak it, so here’s what he suggested:
3x Overgrown Tomb
3x Stomping Ground
3x Blood Crypt
3x Abrupt Decay
2x Rakdos’s Return
4x Farseek
He says I need a more stable mana base, so a lot of the shock lands will help me. He suggested Abrupt Decay in place of Ground Assault, and Rakdos’s Return because it’s “just damn good.”
If you wanna help me or anything, I do have an ask box, it’s just hidden! Or comment on my Tapped Out page. Thanks for reading.
I don’t know if anyone even knew/remembered this band, but I like always sing this song when I do laundry and giggle.
